Yesterday was one year, exactly, I think from the day we landed in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for an interview.
One year since everything turned upside-down and inside-out from what I thought it would be.
One year since we started our biggest adventure yet.
It’s been a year filled with surprises, some good, some not-so-great. A year filled with challenges. A year filled with blessings beyond anything we could ask or imagine. We are closer as a family, closer as a couple – pared-down and simplified in ways we wouldn’t have ever attempted on our own.
Our very good friends the Steikas were here for a visit – they flew home yesterday after hanging out with us and taking in Glacier. I can’t think of a better reminder that nothing is lost with God-following and dream-chasing. Different, for sure, but not lost.
I’m glad we took the leap. It would be an understatement to say we miss our family and friends back home. With each passing day, though, I feel more and more at home here.
